We are saying a fond farewell to our multilingual graduate account executive Ella Williams, who is moving on to study for a DPhil in Oriental Studies at Magdalen College, funded by a scholarship from the Arts and Humanities Research Council.
Her research will look at education and gender equality in boarding houses for girls in remote parts of Morocco and how these contribute to achieving the UN’s development goals for education, equality, and rural development in North Africa.
During her placement with Context, Ella – who speaks French, Arabic, and the mountain language Berber – worked across a number of clients and supported the directors with account administration and producing high quality, long-form content.
Ella has also been working with the ODI (Overseas Development Institute) in the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Programme, where she was involved in different projects related to gender in the developing world. Her work was later published in the Oxford Middle East Review.
Jenni Livesley, Account Director at Context said: “Ella has been an invaluable member of the team during her placement. She took to the role easily and has delivered high quality content and support throughout. We wish her great success as she forges her new path in international affairs.”
Ella said: “My time at Context has been wonderful. Starting a new role and going remote after less than two weeks in the office was definitely a challenge, but I felt part of the team from the start. We managed to stay connected through things like Zoom quizzes, sharing pics of our lockdown bakes and best home office setups. The skills I have gained with Context will be invaluable during my studies and should I go on to work in an international governmental or non-gov organisation.”
From everyone at Context, hza tayibana wafaqak allah [good luck!]
