The Challenge
Manchester based Maginus provides enterprise level software and services for wholesale distribution, eCommerce and retail businesses.
They enlisted Context in 2016 to handle a PR and content marketing brief. They already had an established in-house marketing team who were able to develop key digital content, but wanted to ensure these pieces gained placement in key titles.
Maginus wanted to focus on increasing their visibility within the IT media, as well as retail trade and business press.
The Strategy
Context ensured that time was taken to truly understand the business, solutions and goals of Maginus when first appointed.
This enabled Context to create a full PR plan that included thought leadership articles, press releases, customer case studies, blogs and videos, as well as playing an integral role in developing video content for the website.
By focusing articles on newsworthy industry topics including the entry of Amazon in the B2B retail space, Context were able to position Maginus as a thought leader in their space.
The Results
Within six months Context garnered coverage in major IT, retail technology and specialist vertical titles.
This has included placing the DC Thompson case study in Computing, and placing a thought-leadership article on Amazon’s impact on B2B retail in Retail Technology.
Key coverage was also secured in trade body magazines including the BRC, DCA and UK Warehousing Association, as well as a regional business CEO profile feature in the Manchester Evening News.
